What they are
Ghost
Ghost is an independent publishing platform that combines a CMS, email newsletter tool, and membership system in one place. It is used by independent writers, journalists, and media companies who want to own their audience without relying on third-party platforms. The open-source core can be self-hosted for free, while Ghost Pro handles hosting at a monthly fee. The tradeoff is that it is more opinionated than WordPress and has a steeper learning curve for non-technical users.
Higgsfield
Higgsfield is a multi-model AI video and image platform that aggregates 15-plus frontier models, including Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Seedance 2.0, and its own Soul 2.0, under one subscription. Cinema Studio adds optical-physics-based camera controls, shot planning via an AI director, and reusable character identities through Soul ID. It targets solo creators, social media marketers, and small production studios. The credit system sounds generous until you run premium models: a Seedance 2.0 clip can cost 90 credits, draining a mid-tier plan in a single session.
