Descript vs Plus AI
Side-by-side comparison of Descript and Plus AI.
Edit video and audio by editing text
AI slide generation inside Google Slides and PowerPoint
What they are
Descript
Descript treats audio and video like a word processor: it transcribes your recording, then lets you cut, rearrange, or delete media by editing the transcript. Podcasters, video creators, and course makers use it to remove filler words, generate AI voice clones, and publish without a separate editing app. The text-based workflow is genuinely faster for dialogue-heavy content, though complex multi-track productions still hit its limits.
Plus AI
Plus AI is a native add-on for Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint that generates complete presentations from text prompts, PDFs, and uploaded documents, without routing you to a separate editor. It targets business professionals, consultants, and educators who need polished decks fast and already work inside Google Workspace or Microsoft 365. The Remix and Rewrite tools let you reformat or rewrite existing slides in one click. Output quality is solid for standard business presentations, but the tool struggles with highly technical or specialized content.
if you need video editing and transcription. It has a usable free tier to start with.
